Valdai Discussion Club Presents the Report:

“The New World Order: New Rules or No Rules ?"

On March 11th at 1.00 pm at the press center of the International Information Agency Rossiya Segodnya (hall Presidential) the Valdai Discussion Club is presenting the report based on the summary of the 11th Annual Meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club “The World Order: New rules or no rules?” (October 2014). The presentation will be held in a format of round table.

Today the number of players competing for the right to participate in the development of the world order constantly grows, and the formation of a polycentric system inevitably entails a chain of disturbances and conflicts. Experiment with the construction of a unipolar world has demonstrated that no power is solely authorized to determine international politics. The world community has embraced the age when a high degree of caution and the ability to avoid imprudent steps is particularly required from all of its members.

The report will be presented by its co-editors - Fyodor Lukyanov (Chairman of the Research Council of the International Discussion Club Valdai, Editor-in-Chief, Russia in Global Affairs journal) and Ivan Krastev (Chairman, Centre for Liberal Strategies, Sofia). In their opinion, the solution of global problems depends on effective dialogue and interaction within academic and political communities. The participants will share their views on key issues of the report and will discuss the trends and possible opportunities for the development of the world system.

The discussion will involve a number of Valdai experts - Andrei Bystritsky, Chairman of the Board, Foundation for the Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club, Andrei Kortunov (Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council), Lev Yakobson(First Vice Rector, National Research University – Higher School of Economics), Artem Malgin(Vice Rector, MGIMO-University), Andrei Sushentsov (Associate Professor of the applied analyses of the international studies department, MGIMO-University), Ivan Timofeev(Program Director of the Russian International Affairs Council) and Oleg Barabanov (Deputy Director - Head of the EU Politics at the European Studies Institute of MGIMO-University).
